Again虽说是个小词，但初学者同样容易用错。again是“又”、“再”的意思，但“又”、“再”不能机械地全译作again。如“当地政府决定再建一座水库”，不能说成：The local government deiced to build a reservoir again.而应该是：The local government decided to build another reservoir.

　　Again是修饰动词的副词，它再一次重复动词的行动。水库已经建成，再把它修建，显然讲不通。可以说：

　　At the meeting he again stressed the importance of practice.

　　即使是重复原先的情况，只能用again修饰动词，用another修饰名词或名词短语。如“一个人在大门口等了他的女朋友半个小时，又等了半个小时”，可以说：

　　He waited for her at the gate for another half an hour.

　　又如：

　　I paid another 50 dollars. (陕西/宋杰)
